Over the last few hours, the long-awaited update has been published that marks the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2, which brings not only new skins but also new game mechanics to the free Epic Games battle royale.
We refer specifically to the revolution involving the shooting system and the introduction of the possibility of climbing on ledges. Let’s find out everything there is to know about these mechanics.
How the new shot of Fortnite Season 2 works
One of the main novelties of the new season of the battle royale consists in a substantial modification of the system that allows the characters to move faster. The development team has decided to make Fortnite’s shot much more like that of other first and third-person shooters, increasing the speed of movement and at the same time increasing the time it takes to use the weapon at the end of the race, from the moment that this will be placed in the meantime.
This means that you can now run faster, but you’d better not sprint in front of an enemy, as you might find yourself in front of him without being able to react in time.
How to Climb in Fortnite Season 2
Another unpublished mechanic of Fortnite Season 2 is the ability to climb the ledges. It is a very particular mechanic that had never been seen before in battle royale and thanks to which both the fights and the exploratory phases are now more dynamic.
Know that climbing is really simple and to do so you just need to jump near a ledge, so that your character grabs it and passes it automatically. You can also take advantage of the new race to give you the momentum and thus reach the farthest holds to climb and perhaps surprise an opponent.
