Play as you Download allows you to use apps and games while they are still downloading. This is particularly useful for larger applications that may take a little longer to download. Meanwhile, the user can already start and set up the game. We already know this idea from Xbox, PlayStation and Co. Google will soon be expanding the availability of this Play Store function.
New Play as you Download will only be noticed by a few in everyday life
Provision is planned for all smartphones that are equipped with at least Android 12. That should happen very soon, Google added to its announcement. At this point, very few apps and games are likely to use this feature anyway. It will certainly be years before the system behind it is established. But good that Google is implementing further developments.
