Spotify gets the name of the stadium in Barcelona and we see Google in Formula 1 for the first time in the new season. In fact, Google has teamed up with McLaren. This means we will see familiar Google products prominently on the new McLaren in Formula 1 and also on the McLaren Extreme E Team. Google provides chrome wheels and large Android lettering on the “bonnet” or the air tunnel for the engine.
McLaren: With Google on the way to becoming a World Cup candidate
The partnership brings the best of Google products to McLaren to provide a more seamless technology experience across devices. Throughout the season, McLaren will use 5G-enabled Android devices and the Chrome browser during practice sessions, qualifying and races to support drivers and the team with the aim of improving on-track performance.
Android and Chrome branding will be worn on the engine cover and wheel covers of MCL36 Formula 1 cars, as well as the helmets and racing suits of McLaren Formula 1 drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo for the 2022 Formula 1 season.
The first race of the new season starts around 4 p.m. on March 20 (Sunday).
