The upcoming new pixel hardware has been anything but quiet in the last few days. After Pixel 6a and Pixel Watch even appeared at the first retailers, new information has come to light again. This included more details on the internal hardware of the new mid-range smartphone Pixel 6a. We tell you what is interesting to know.
Pixel 6a comes with a top processor from Google
Despite its price range of probably less than 500 euros, the new phone is said to be based on the Google Tensor. This is Google’s first proprietary SoC, which we first received in the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. However, Google is providing the chip in the Pixel 6a with 6 gigabytes of RAM with a little less RAM. Should still be enough for most though.
Delays, once again
And now for the bad news.
According to insiders, it’s very possible that Google will have to delay the Pixel 6a by a few months. The lack of chips should be the primary reason given by insiders. From May to July. A delay for the Pixel Watch seems just as likely. But we’ll have to wait and see, which doesn’t apply to all parts of the technical equipment.
Google Pixel Watch with unlimited storage
Dealers have also listed the Pixel Watch and have already revealed the first details. There are three colors (black, gray, gold) for the round watch to choose from. It also looks like there will be an LTE variant. The internal memory is 32 gigabytes, so the Pixel Watch even outshines the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
Less a solid rumor, but much more “just a patent” shows a new type of gesture control via the skin. Google is planning something like this for headphones and smartwatches, the found patent could already reveal. The gestures that you make on the skin next to the devices are recognized by sensors in the hardware.
