Visual reference: Start in Germany probably with iOS 15.4

In the US, Visual Lookup has made its way into iOS with version 15. In Germany, the function, which, to put it simply, works like Google Lens, will probably start next week. Within the beta of iOS 15.4, visual reference is now available in Germany, so it should start next week – Apple confirmed the launch of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 for week 11. The “visual reference” function is on the iPhone XS, iPhone XR and newer models available.

How Visual Lookup works:

  • Open a photo in full-screen mode. If the Visual Lookup feature can provide additional information for the photo, you will see the (i) icon.
  • Swipe up on the photo or tap (i).
  • Tap the icon that appears on the photo or at the top of the photo info window to see Siri Knowledge and more information about the item.
