TF International analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said in his latest tweet that Apple will not launch a new Mac Mini this year, revising his predictions ahead of a special spring event. “2023: Mac Pro, iMac Pro and Mac mini” in the latest tweet.
Before the start of the conference, Mr. Guo Minghao predicted and analyzed that Apple will launch a high-end Mac Mini and a 27-inch display without a Mini LED screen, while the Mac Pro and iMac Pro using Apple Silicon will wait until 2023.
Currently, the M1 Mac mini is sold alongside older high-end models that continue to feature Intel chips. The updated model could see Apple introduce the M2 and M2 Pro chips. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also said on Twitter Tuesday that Apple has an M2 version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac and Mac mini in the works.

The M2 chip is expected to feature the same 8-core CPU, but with improvements in speed and efficiency, along with a 9- or 10-core GPU, up from the M1’s 7 or 8 cores. As for the M2 Pro, we don’t know the full details yet, but it could feature a 12-core CPU. The current M1 Pro chip has a 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU, so we might see a GPU boost as well. Testing of the M2 is already underway, as evidenced by the mention of the chip in the latest beta for macOS Monterey.
