According to what is learned from a report by Omdia , in 2021 Samsung shipped 135.1 million smartphones with OLED screens, equal to 49.7% of total shipments: 135.8 million phones with displays were in fact LCD shipped by the company. Compared to 2020, shipments of Samsung’s OLED-screen smartphones in 2021 recorded a decrease of 15% while shipments of those with LCD panels increased by 41%.

Also according to Omdia, the average selling prices of both OLED and LCD smartphones from Samsung decreased in 2021 compared to 2020. The only exception is represented by low-end LCD smartphones and this means that selling this category of devices could be more profitable. for the Korean giant.
