Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
The first information about a new smartwatch from Samsung. The Galaxy Watch 5, as it will be called, will be equipped with a thermometer function, according to sources from South Korea ‘s ETNews .
It’s not entirely clear whether the feature will actually work as a full-fledged thermometer. For example, Huawei made it possible last year with the Watch 3 to measure users’ skin temperatures, which is even different from your body temperature.
Yet South Korean media does talk about measuring body temperature and Samsung is said to have developed a counter technology that can exclude external influences such as sports and direct sunlight from temperature measurements.
Whatever it becomes with the Galaxy Watch 5, the feature will be able to record noticeable rises and falls in your temperature anyway. That can help to spot signs of fever early, and according to ETNews sources, Samsung will also make it clear that the Galaxy Watch 5 can more quickly identify any of the symptoms of a corona infection. A user with a fever can then more quickly turn to a PCR or self-test.
