Contrary to the rumors of some time ago, who wanted a sort of fusion between the graphic interfaces of OPPO and OnePlus, the denial arrived at the end of February is now more confirmed and details; OnePlus has in fact held a reserved event in which it provided a preview of the next OxygenOS 13, let’s see the details.
OxygenOS is here to stay and will not merge with Color OS
On the sidelines of the MWC 2022 OnePlus stated that the formation of a new unified operating system is not planned, OxygenOS will remain where it is and will soon welcome version 13; the very latest version of the interface was the focus of an Open Ears Forum reserved for some members of the community, where they were given a preview of what the next version has in store.
Following the event, the company has published some details on its forum, revealing that OxygenOS 13 is already under development, but avoiding presenting what is shown to the members participating in the event; nevertheless, it has nevertheless released some information that allows us to get an idea of how the next version will be:
- Improves the customization and consistency of the user interface
- Improves system consistency and optimizes the path of some functions
- Add more features in AOD (like Music Player)
- Optimizes Zen mode to provide users with a more engaging and efficient experience
In addition to this, OnePlus has also admitted a sort of “failure” of the OxygenOS 12 version, which by its admission was not launched according to a quality standard that could meet the expectations of the company itself and the community.
Regarding the collaboration for the development of OnePlus and Oppo interfaces, the company commented:

In essence, the purpose of the collaboration should be to improve the quality of both software, as well as speed up the release of updates for both interfaces.
