According to the latest reports, Amazon Prime Video is negotiating with Sony to develop a live-action series based on the God of War game. The show is expected to be led by Infernal Affairs executive producers Mark Fergus and Hawke Osby, and Chrono Trigger executive producer Leif Judkins.
Sony Pictures and PlayStation Productions will also be involved, Deadline said. Sony has struck several deals to adapt some of its most popular games for TV and movies. Sony recently signed Peacock’s live-action remake of Chariots of Fire, as well as the upcoming Ghost of Tsushima movie, as well as the HBO-exclusive adaptation of The Last of Us, and of course the newly released Tom – The Uncharted movie starring Holland, which received fairly good reviews.
The original game of God of War tells the story of the Spartan warrior Kratos, after killing his relatives under the influence of the Greek god of war Ares, embarks on a journey of revenge against him, after becoming the cruel god of war, Kratos finds himself always looking for an opportunity to change his destiny.
