Valve is very open about the Steam Deck handheld, and they recently opened up the SteamOS development kit to the public. Some users have found that development kits are already available on the GitLab platform.
The SteamOS development kit client and server are open to all users to download, and developers can easily upload the version on their own devices to Steam Deck for testing without Valve’s approval.
After the development kit is released, developers can test themselves, report problems, and possibly provide optimization suggestions for the system, but other uses may also arise. For example, we saw a picture of the Dolphin emulator running on Steam Deck before.
