Most of Google’s Android applications have been updated to Material You but, whether or not the widgets with the new graphic appearance are implemented, may depend on the type of device in possession; not all are in fact available on non-Pixel smartphones, for this reason, the 9to5Google colleagues have compared the widgets present in One UI 4.1 (Android 12) with those available on Big G smartphones.
Widgets are available for all devices with Android 12
Google Calendar: The two Google calendar widgets were redesigned and updated with Dynamic Color in September, now they fit much better with the look of Android 12.
Google Chrome: Chrome’s widgets don’t closely resemble Material You, but are still aesthetically pleasing and widely available.
Google Clock: Available for all five clock widget variations, including customizations.
Google Drive: Google Drive makes quick actions and suggested files available, with the new graphics, even for devices with Android versions older than 12.
Gmail: The Gmail widget has only one size variant, both on tablets and smartphones, the Chat, Spaces and Meet shortcuts are positioned below.
Google Fi
Google Keep: Unlike in Gmail, shortcuts are placed on the side rather than the bottom in the Keep widget.
Google Photos: Both the “people and pets” and “your memories” Google Photos widgets are available for everyone.
Exclusive widgets (for now) for Pixel smartphones
Google Maps: Exclusive to Pixel, the “quickly find nearby places” widget opens Google Maps and the keyboard directly.
Google Weather
Youtube Music: The “recently played” widget is currently only available on Pixels, while “Turntable” is for everyone.
