After the transition to Chromium, Microsoft is gradually migrating the excellent PDF features from the classic version of Edge to the new Microsoft Edge browser. After adding a series of functions such as PDF screenshots, in the latest Edge Canary 100 channel version, a full-screen mode is provided for PDF documents. In addition, the browser can hide all comments in the document, as well as view their properties.
Spotted by Reddit user Leopeva64-2, Microsoft Edge Canary v100 has a full-screen mode optimized for PDF files. Full-screen mode is usually preferred when presenting. Selecting this mode ensures that only the PDF file is visible on the entire screen; even the PDF reader’s toolbar is hidden.
Full-screen mode is indicated by a diagonal double-headed arrow. The icon is currently located within the PDF reader toolbar itself. The full-screen mode can even display multiple pages.
In addition to full-screen mode, Microsoft is also testing a new menu that includes options to hide comments and view document properties. All of these features are currently available in the latest Edge Canary release. Since Microsoft is performing a “controlled rollout,” some testers may receive these features before others.
