Sony has slowed its pace in the smartphone space, but that doesn’t mean it’s giving up on the field. It is reported that Sony is planning to launch the fourth-generation Xperia 1 product line, and Giznext took the lead in sharing the rendering of the Xperi 1 IV and some additional details.
According to the information shown in the renderings, the Xperia 1 IV has the same flat screen as the previous model, but the size is slightly different, reaching 6.5 inches. The phone measures 164.7 x 70.8 x 8.3 mm, and the thickest part of the camera bump is 9.5 mm.
The front of the fuselage uses a flat-screen, and there is a punch-hole front camera on the left side of the handset. There is an elongated vertically arranged camera module on the back of the fuselage, with 3 cameras and an LED flash. The bottom panel can see the packing SIM card tray, as well as the USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
The Xperia 1 IV retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is placed on the top left of the top frame. The left panel of the Xperia 1 IV is empty, with the volume, power, and shutter buttons all on the right. The company appears to have done away with the Google Assistant-specific key on the previous-generation model.
Notably, the Xperia 1 IV’s power key integrates a physical fingerprint scanner for biometric identification. Speaking of design, the 5K renders also hint at two-tone options, including matte green and black. We’re not yet sure if that are the only two options, or if the brand will also launch some additional colors.
