Due to recent international events, DICE has announced that Battlefield 2042‘s weekly missions will be disabled and that its reward, the fictional Russian Mi-240 Super Hind gunship skin, will no longer be unlockable.
On the official Twitter DICE said: “Due to the current events, we have disabled this week’s weekly quest system, and this week’s rewards are no longer unlockable. Players who have completed this week’s quests are not affected, and the weekly quests will be in the next week back.”
Battlefield Wikipedia describes the Mi-240 Super Hind as an “evolution” of the Russian reality Mi-24 gunship. It is very similar to the real-life version, with a unique dual cockpit design and wings capable of mounting multiple weapon systems.

This isn’t the first time Russia-related in-game items have gone wrong: in November 2021, the epic skin for the in-game expert character “Boris” also had to change its name. DICE said at the time that “it inadvertently referenced real-world issues and did not reflect our team’s values”. The skin was previously named “Little Green Man,” a reference to an irregular Russian army.
