Valve kicked off the latest installment of its Steam Next Fest event. The week-long digital event, featuring hundreds of PC game demos, will last until 2:00 a.m. Beijing time on March 1.
In addition to a plethora of free-to-play game demos, Steam Next Fest will also include a series of developer live streams, giving players a chance to talk with developers about the games they’re working on.
Steam Next Fest, previously known as the Steam Game Festival, originally debuted in December 2019 as an add-on to The Game Awards.
In addition, Valve will launch the Ste AMD eck this week, which has been delayed by two months due to a shortage of raw materials. The company will start sending the first order emails to pre-order users at 10:00 am Beijing time on February 26.
Consumers will have 72 hours to purchase the Steam Deck after receiving their order email or their pre-order eligibility will be passed on to the next person waiting. Valve recently stated: “The first batch of products will reach customers on the 28th, and we plan to send a batch of new order mails every week.”
Announced last July, the Steam Deck is described as “a powerful all-in-one portable PC” capable of running the latest triple-A games — though not all of them are suitable for the handheld.
Prices start at $399/£349 (64GB eMMC), with increased storage options at $529/£459 (256GB NVMe SSD ) and $649/£569 (512GB NVMe SSD).
