Google has put a lot of focus on the further development of Chrome OS in the last two years. In the past few days, various innovations have appeared, which we want to summarize briefly for you in this article.
However, it is primarily about a few smaller things that are perhaps not as important individually as some other functions may be. We recently came across 7 innovations that we would like to bring you closer to.
- Floating Workspace: Chrome OS should get a seamless tab exchange between devices. It should even automatically open recently active tabs and windows on a device that you may not have used for a few days. For example the work PC after the weekend.
- Palm Rejection v2: There are more and more Chromebooks with touch displays. For this purpose, Google is planning a new version of palm recognition, which will then work 50 percent better than the previous version.
- Nearby Sharing: The function for sharing content is to be extended to WiFi passwords. Once the function is finished, you can use it to forward WLAN access data to devices in the vicinity.
- Animated screensavers: Chrome OS should be able to do more and more what Windows and Co. have been able to do for a long time. This includes animated screensavers.
- Hibernation: Chromebooks are said to have a better hibernation, which can save a lot of energy.
- Adaptive charging: Like the Pixel phones, Chromebooks will probably be able to charge smarter in the future, which saves the battery in the long term.
- Steam/Linux: The gaming platform is on the way, the first compatible devices are now also known.
