Pending the release for all of the global voice note readers, the beta version of WhatsApp for Android is introducing some changes to the voice notes and audio forwarded.
WhatsApp beta 2.22.5.13 now uses orange icons, rather than yellow, when forwarding voice notes and audio files. To distinguish forwarded voice notes from audio files, WhatsApp uses a different icon, microphone and headphone respectively, plus forwarded voice notes also include their stylized waveforms if the original voice note was recorded using a version of WhatsApp where the feature was enabled.
WhatsApp beta modifies the forwarded voice notes and audio
The forwarded voice notes now also include a playback speed, but this feature is not currently available for audio files, however, WhatsApp is developing it on the beta channel for iOS, so it should also be introduced in WhatsApp beta for Android with a future update.
These changes are currently only available to select beta testers, but their availability will be expanded in a future update. A few days ago WhatsApp Beta also renewed the sharing of photos and videos.
