With Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the Mountain View giant has introduced a handy grammar check function in Gboard, a solution that works entirely on the device to preserve privacy and is able to detect any grammatical errors and suggest to users the related fixes, all as you type.
Specifically, users see grammar errors with a blue underline as they write text, and if they touch it, Gboard provides a full replacement in the suggestion line.
This feature is enabled by default but can be disabled by going to the Gboard settings menu, then entering the section dedicated to text correction and looking for the grammar check option.
At the moment this feature is capable of correcting only English sentences and supports most Android apps (such as messaging clients) and the Google team has already promised that it will soon be available in other languages as well.
Gboard’s grammar checker coming to all Google Pixels
Last year the Google developer team was keen to highlight the great work done to be able to guarantee users a solution of this type, capable on the one hand of offering high effectiveness and, on the other, of not neglect aspects such as privacy (the text typed is processed directly on the device, without going through external servers).
In the last few days the reports of owners of other models of the Google Pixel series have multiplied on the Net who have begun to notice the availability of the Gboard grammar check function while it does not seem to have been implemented on smartphones from other manufacturers.
Google Pixel owners who wish to try this function (remember that it is currently only available in English) can download the latest versions of Gboard from APK Mirror (find the dedicated page here).
