As we had pointed out in the review phase, the OnePlus 10 Pro did not really behave like a smartphone with an LTPO 2.0 screen. And obviously not wrongly, given that a new software update is being released to fill this defect found in the initial phase.
Given the reports from those who had the smartphone in their hands, the OnePlus development team ran for cover with an update that allows the smartphone display to give its best.
Here comes a new and important update for the OnePlus 10 Pro
As explained in this dedicated focus, the LTPO 2.0 technology introduced by the OnePlus 10 Pro aims to raise the bar in terms of refresh rate. So far, in fact, most smartphones equipped with LTPO screens are able to go down to a minimum of 10 Hz.
In the case of the OnePlus, however, the panel goes down to only 1 Hz, for the benefit of energy consumption. Raising the refresh rate, in fact, increases the consumption of the battery, for the reasons explained in the aforementioned focus on the subject.
However, the software with which the OnePlus 10 Pro was launched did not allow it to reach such a low refresh rate. Now, with this new update to build A.09, the screen can reach 1 Hz, although remember that this frequency can only be reached on the Always-On Display screen.
In this way, OnePlus aims to minimize screen consumption when not in use. As OnePlus reports in the changelog, however, 1 Hz support is guaranteed only with some styles of AOD and not with all. Let’s imagine that the minimum refresh rate is guaranteed only by using the leanest presets among those available.
The A.09 update for the OnePlus 10 Pro also introduces optimizations for the camera, especially for Portrait and Night mode, white balance with third-party apps. In addition, there is also news for the performance and fluidity of the system, haptic feedback, gaming, Bluetooth compatibility, and performance in the gaming and Wi-Fi phase.
