Black Shark Technology announced last month that the Black Shark 5 series of mobile phones will soon debut, equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, and now the configuration of the new phone has been fully exposed.
According to the blogger @Digital Chat Station today, the Black Shark 5 series includes two models, the Black Shark 5 and the Black Shark 5 Pro, of which the Black Shark 5 uses a 6.67-inch 2400*1080 resolution ultra-high brush AMOLED display, equipped with Snapdragon 870+12GB memory, front 13-megapixel camera, rear 64-megapixel main camera, built-in 4650mAh battery, support dual-core 100-watt flash charge, measurements are 163.83×76.25×10.37mm and weigh 223g.
The Black Shark 5 Pro with a higher configuration uses a 6.67-inch 2400*1080 resolution ultra-high-brush AMOLED display, equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen1 + 16GB memory, a front-facing 13-megapixel camera, and a rear-facing 108-megapixel camera. The main camera has a built-in 4650mAh battery, supports dual-core 100W flash charging, measures 163.86×76.53×9.8mm, and weighs 226g.
In addition, the Black Shark 5 series is expected to be equipped with “SSD-level storage”. This technology has been applied to the Black Shark 4S Pro, and Luo Yuzhou, CEO of Black Shark Technology, called it “creating a precedent for the Android camp”.
It is worth mentioning that previous sources said that Tencent is preparing to acquire Black Shark Technology, a subsidiary of Xiaomi Group, for 2.7 billion, which is still under negotiation. After the transaction is completed, Black Shark’s future business focus will shift from gaming mobile phones to VR devices as a whole — content will be provided by Tencent, and Black Shark will provide VR hardware access.
