A new update for Mozilla’s popular Firefox browser is here. Version 97.0 has now officially started distribution. In addition to closed security gaps and other bug fixes, there are rather few innovations.
The update is primarily aimed at Windows 11 users. For those, a new, customized scrollbar style is supported. For macOS users, the loading of system fonts when opening and switching to new tabs has also been improved.
As usual, the new Firefox version is available for download from the official website. The update can also be loaded via the integrated update function. Another “innovation” also has to be announced.
Firefox version 94 color schemes are being phased out with immediate effect. However, you can continue to use your favorite color indefinitely if you have activated it via the add-on manager.
The 18 integrated colors are specifically affected. With version 97 there are 6 new designs instead. Mozilla has described the procedure here. Also noteworthy for Linux users: PostScript generation is stopped, but you can still print on PostScript printers.
