GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition has sold up to 10 million copies since its release in November last year, far exceeding company expectations, according to sales figures released by Take-Two on Monday.
At Monday’s investor conference, Take-Two updated its sales figures for GTA5 and other games in the series. The latest data is that the cumulative sales of the GTAnseries exceeded 370 million sets, including GTA 5, which sold more than 160 million.
In November last year, just before the release of GTA: Trilogy-Definitive Edition, data released by Take-Two showed that the cumulative sales of the GTA series were 355 million, and the sales of GTA 5 were 155 million, which means that from October to December last year In these three months, the sales of the GTA series increased by 15 million, and the sales of GTA 5 increased by 5 million, which in turn means that the sales of GTA series non- GTA 5 increased by 10 million sets.
Considering the release of GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition, GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition should account for the vast majority of these 10 million sales, despite the collapse of word of mouth for the work.
Take-Two has yet to officially release exact sales figures for GTA: Trilogy: Definitive Edition, but CEO Zelnick insisted last month that the collection is doing “very well.” And during the company’s third-quarter earnings call on Monday, Zelnick said that GTA: Trilogy: Definitive Edition sold well ahead of the company’s expectations.
Zelnick also told GI.biz that an update to GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition is coming. GTA: Trilogy – Definitive Edition is coming to iOS and Android devices in the first half of 2022.
