Despite the introduction of lossless sound quality and support for Dolby Atmos in 2021, Apple Music hasn’t seen a major overhaul for several years. However, this situation is about to change, citing technology media iDropnews to report that Apple is developing a feature called “Siri Picks” internally to recommend personalized music.
The feature will be integrated into the “For You” page, where Siri will generate playlists for you based on your preferences and refresh your memory with songs you’ve heard over the years but have stopped playing. It will take into account many data factors, such as how many times you listened to a certain type of song, and even for which songs the volume was raised.
Judging from the exposed screenshots, this is just a template, only for software engineers. Note that the names you see are not guaranteed to be the ones you see when this new feature is released. Apple works with dozens of different variants before finally picking one and making it available to the public.
Some could argue that it’s just a renamed “Listen Now” label, and that’s true from a purely visual standpoint. However, this will have more to do with the iPhone’s neural engine and machine learning after discussions with people involved on the condition of anonymity.
