Copyright-free and tech dish Ubisoft sues Assassin’s Creed Symphony show producer

According to the latest report, Ubisoft filed a lawsuit last week against the producer of the Assassin’s Creed Symphony show, which ran a series of Assassin’s Creed Symphony shows in 2019 and 2020.

According to the lawsuit, Ubisoft and Massimo Gallota Productions (MGP) entered into a deal to produce the show in 2018 but ended the deal with the publisher before the show completed its first year of tour.

Ubisoft alleges that the company breached its contract several times by not obtaining approval for each use of the Assassin’s Creed copyrighted trademark, royalties were not paid, and the performances failed to meet minimum quality standards.

Ubisoft pointed out that MGP registered the domain name for the show’s website without first asking permission, and repeatedly refused to transfer ownership of the domain name to Ubisoft after the contract was terminated.

Additionally, Ubisoft said it signed a deal in December with a new company to run the Assassin’s Creed Symphony show, and MGP has contacted the new company, claiming they still have the right to run such events.

For Ubisoft, the world premiere of Assassin’s Creed: Symphony Adventure will be held at the Grand Rex in Paris on October 29, 2022, and the global tour is scheduled to begin in early 2023.

Ubisoft is suing the company for trademark and copyright infringement, cybersquatting, breach of contract, and other acts. MGP has not responded to the matter. And the website of MGP’s illegal registration is still running, click here.
