Age of Empires 3: Definitive Edition has updated the co-op mode in the campaign, allowing two players to experience historical battles together, and the enemy AI has also been updated to face two opponents. This update is now live on Steam.
In the previous games, players could only play the multiplayer mode of battle, and could not cooperate to pass historical battles. Now the official has finally added this important mode.
Campaign Co-op Mode As long as the host has the DLC, you can cooperate in the DLC campaign mode, and does not require another player to have the DLC. With all the DLC expansions, there will be a total of 12 historical battles, of which the base player can only experience half of them.
Only the base game is required:
- Algiers(1516)
- da Gama’s expedition (1542)
- Chuvash Headland (1582)
- Raid on the Caribbean Sea (1586)
- Fort Dusenque (1754)
- Battle of New Orleans (1815)
- Requires Africa DLC:
- The Battle of the Three Kings (1578)
- The Fall of Hausa (1804)
- Princess Era (1855)
- Requires US DLC:
- The burned aircraft carrier Philadelphia (1803)
- Requires Mexican Civilization DLC:
- The Dolores Cry (1810)

Entering the campaign co-op mode requires the player to first go to the historical campaign options, they can choose a mission to start in co-op mode, and then can choose to add a password to ensure friends join or just open it up for anyone to join.
