While the first clues about the 7Z 5G model appear, OPPO Reno 7 and Reno 7 Pro finally come out of Chinese borders and become Global (for now only in India): let’s find out what changes with these international versions, what they are the details on the specifications and – above all – what the selling price is.
As also seen from the previous rumors, for OPPO Reno 7 Global the company has decided to opt for a rebrand of its brother Reno 7 SE, but going to insert some improvements. The device has a 6.4 “AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate; the fingerprint reader is integrated under the screen.
It is a stylish terminal – thanks to the Reno Glow look – with small dimensions and respectable weight (173 grams and 7.81 mm thick). The core of the Reno 7 base is the Dimensity 900 chipset, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The battery is a 4,500 mAh unit with 65W fast charging while for the photographic sector we have a 32 MP selfie camera and a triple main module of 64 + 8 + 2 MP with wide-angle and macro. The operating system is Android 11, in the form of ColorOS 12 (the latest version of OPPO’s proprietary interface).
For the sake of accuracy, we point out that the Chinese Reno 7 is equipped with the Snapdragon 778G instead. In short, the Global model takes the body of the Reno 7 SE and the chipset but introduces a 64 MP main sensor (instead of 48 MP) and support for fast charging from 65W (compared to the 33W of the Chinese 7 SE).
Moving on to the big brother, OPPO Reno 7 Pro Global follows what has been seen with the model launched in China. We have an AMOLED Full HD + display from 6.5 ” to 90 Hz with an ID sensor under the screen while the heart of the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-Max, a solution up to 3 GHz, supported by 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The photographic sector offers a triple camera from 50 + 8 + 2 MP with Sony IMX766 main sensor, wide-angle and macro; icing on the cake, there is an LED notification ring around the module. On the selfie side, we have the Sony IMX709 sensor 32 MP, able to offer great performance in low light thanks to the support of a proprietary module OPPO from 22 nm with DOL-HDR functionality (so much so that it has earned the nickname of Cat Eye). For all the details on this novelty, take a look at our dedicated article (in the section where we talk about the RGBW sensor). A 4,500 mAh battery with 65W charging, Android 11 and ColorOS 12 complete the picture.
As anticipated also at the beginning, the Reno 7 series was launched only for the Indian market. OPPO Reno 7 Pro Global is offered at around € 466 at the current exchange rate (12/256 GB) while in the case of the standard version the price drops to around € 338 (8/256 GB). We do not yet know if the range will also arrive in other countries and in our latitudes, but we will keep you updated.
