Activision Blizzard released its fourth-quarter 2021 financial report today. As of December 31, Activision Blizzard’s net booking value for the fourth quarter was $2.49 billion, lower than Wall Street’s expectations and down from $3.05 billion in the same period last year. Activision Blizzard’s revenue in the fourth quarter was $2.163 billion, down from $2.413 billion in the same period last year and below analysts’ forecast of $2.82 billion.
This means that Call of Duty: Vanguard, as analysts believe, is underperforming the previous year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. However, King’s record performance more than made up for the lower-than-expected Call of Duty 18, with King’s mobile net bookings up 18%, accounting for 33% of the quarter’s total net bookings.
Analysts have previously pointed out that players are less enthusiastic about the return of Call of Duty 18 to World War II, so they speculate that Call of Duty 18 will sell less than Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and 2019’s Call of Duty 18. Call of Duty 16: Modern Warfare.
Activision Blizzard’s game revenue for the entire of 2021 is $8.8 billion, an increase of 8.8% compared to 2020. Net profit was US$2.7 billion, an increase of 22.8% compared to 2020.
Blizzard is Developing:
- The new Warcraft mobile game
- Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2

In addition, the financial report also confirmed that Diablo 2: Remastered sold more than any other Activision Blizzard remastered game during the same period.
