The iOS 15.4 beta test version launched today extends support for the iCloud+ custom email domain function. With the new option, users can set it directly in iCloud Mail on iPhone. Interested friends can go to “Settings → Apple ID → iCloud”. You can see that iCloud Mail has become a clickable option, and it includes a section for setting custom mail domains.
Previously, although it was possible to set a custom email domain name through iCloud Mail, users needed to go to Apple’s iCloud.com official website to operate, and could not set it directly on the iPhone or iPad.
Although it is now supported to set up directly on the device side, you have to pay at least $0.99 for the iCloud+ paid storage plan. However, the user’s actual mail sending and receiving experience has not changed, and iCloud will help you automatically handle the transfer process behind the scenes.
Each iCloud user can add up to five custom domains to iCloud Mail, and members of a family sharing group get the same experience. The same feature option can also be found under “System Preferences → Apple ID → iCloud Mail” on the Mac side, but it doesn’t seem to be officially enabled yet.
