The existence of the unprecedented OnePlus Nord 2T underlines the importance that the company is giving to its mid-range range proposal. For some years now, the birth of the Nord series has changed OnePlus’s focus on its catalog. If in its early years it concentrated exclusively on the top of the range, this is no longer the case. And it almost makes you smile to think back to the launch of that OnePlus X that in 2015 tried to get OnePlus into the mid-range but without success. Now the story is very different, as evidenced by the sales success achieved all over the world.
If there was one factor in which OnePlus stood out from the competition it was the “cleanliness” of the catalog. Until a few years ago, in fact, OnePlus had few models to look after and therefore it was easier for a consumer to choose the model to rely on. Unfortunately, the merger with OPPO meant an “OPPO-ification” of OnePlus, that is, an expansion of the catalog with models with names that are not exactly intuitive for the less experienced. On the one hand, we have the top of the range, with the OnePlus 10 Pro which was presented but not the base model, while there are rumors of the OnePlus 10R and 10 Ultra.
On the other hand, there is the Nord family which in 2 years can already count on 6 models and to which this OnePlus Nord 2T will soon be added. It is the first time that the name “T” appears in the Nord series: what will change compared to the already known OnePlus Nord 2?
For the moment we do not have images of the OnePlus Nord 2T, but the look should not be very different from that of Nord 2. The dimensions of the body would not vary, therefore we assume the use of the same Fluid AMOLED punch-hole from 6.43 ″ Full HD + (2400 x 1080 pixels) in 20: 9 with a density of 409 PPI, refresh rate at 90 Hz and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Obviously, the usual fingerprint sensor under the screen with optical technology would remain, but no Alert Slider.
According to reliable sources, the OnePlus Nord 2T will be powered by the brand new Dimensity 1300. MediaTek has not yet presented it and we would not be surprised if it were done on the occasion of the OnePlus event. It should always be a 6 nm SoC with a 5G modem: the power expressed by the CPU and GPU should change. The memory cuts should be 6/8/12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of non-expandable storage. The other novelty would be the battery department, probably always with the same 4,500 mAh but with a more powerful fast charge, which would go from 65 to 80W.
Aesthetically unchanged, the photographic sector of the OnePlus Nord 2T would include a triple camera from 50 + 8 + 2 MP. The configuration same as Nord 2, but some sensors could be improved. The 32 MP selfie camera doesn’t change either.
Price and availability
There is still a presentation date for the OnePlus Nord 2T, whose launch is scheduled for the month of February. As well as information on marketing is lacking, even if the rumors speak of it as a model perhaps for India. We’ll see if it will also be brought here to Europe.
