Oppo will sell products for different groups of people in different product lines, with the economical models placed in the A-series, the Reno models housing mid-range devices, and the high-end models led by Find. Around March 2022, Oppo is expected to launch the Find X5 series, of which the Find X5 Pro will be the new top model, and the first live photos of the device were recently revealed online.
And now, LetsGoDigital has received a series of product images of Oppo phones that have yet to be officially announced. These official product images, taken from a design patent filed by OPPO in China, contain multiple color renderings showing an as-yet-unknown OPPO smartphone from every angle in great detail.
The smartphone has an unusual camera design, with a Google Pixel-like camera island extending the entire width of the phone. In terms of space, it takes up about 30% of the backplane. The triple cameras are placed in vertical order on the left, and the LED flash is on the right, similar to the OPPO Reno 6.
The patent image also shows the side of the phone, from which it can be seen that the camera only protrudes slightly from the casing. This likely means there will be no further increase in the optical zoom range. It is worth mentioning that there is a colored halo around the three camera lenses. Its function is still unknown. OPPO usually takes the looks of its devices very seriously, and it knows how to convince younger consumers to choose the Chinese brand.
What is unknown is which product line the phone will be released for. If not the Find X5, will it be the new Reno smartphone? The OPPO Reno 7 smartphone is the most recent model, and these devices were announced in China at the end of December 2021. In the fall of 2022, the Reno 8 lineup is expected to be announced, of which the OPPO Reno 8 Pro will be the new top model. So far, little is known about this model.
Notably, the design shares many similarities with the concept produced by Dutch graphic designer Jermaine Smit. In August 2021, the designer created a ” Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra” concept. This device houses the same type of camera island – pictured above. Its design is also somewhat similar to the Mi 11 Ultra. However, Xiaomi opted to use the empty space for the second display — something that OPPO doesn’t have.
Further features of this OPPO phone are the narrow screen bezels and the placement of a punch-hole camera system in the upper left corner. The front shows a lot of similarities with the Reno 6. It is still unknown when this smartphone will be officially launched, and it will most likely become the OPPO Reno 8 Pro, which will be released later in 2022. We think the chances of this OPPO phone becoming a reality are pretty good, especially since the design patent contains two-color renders hinted at.
