God of War 4 has reached a new high in Steam online peak, reaching 73,529 online users within 24 hours, becoming the first game of PlayStation Studio with a Steam online peak exceeding 70,000. As a nearly 4-year-old game, PC players still have such high enthusiasm, which makes people wonder if the latest game God of War 5 will have a chance to land on PC in the future.
In an interview with Game Informer, God of War 4 director Cory Barlog was asked if God of War 5 would come to PC faster, after all, God of War 4 took nearly 4 years to come to the PC platform. Barlog just gave a very simple reply: I don’t know. Although his reply did not deny that God of War 5 is likely to come to PC, it is obviously not the answer that PC gamers most want to hear.
Barlog said that Sony is currently adopting a one-at-a-time strategy, which presumably refers to the slow pace of Sony’s first-party games landing on PC. He said Sony needs to evaluate each game’s performance and whether players like it. Barlog said whether God of War 5 will come to PC and how long it will take to port will ultimately be decided by Sony.
