In some countries, Instagram is testing vertical scrolling for its stories with a select group of users. For example, Twitter users from Brazil and Turkey report that they can claim the new design. Maybe Instagram wants to learn something from TikTok, which is already creating such a design.
Apparently, the new pattern works like this: In order to wander through stories of the same user, it is still necessary to switch from left to right and vice versa. But if you then want to switch to the stories of the next user, you should swipe down on the screen.

Time will tell whether Instagram will ultimately distribute vertical scrolling more widely or whether this is a temporary or limited experiment. Would you welcome this adjustment?
