Frontier Developments has released its latest interim results and trading update, confirming that Jurassic World: Evolution 2 has sold nearly 1 million copies since its November 2021 release. Also, this is for the base game only and does not include DLC. Sales of the PC version were initially lower than expected, but the word of mouth and positive reviews seem to have played a big role.
Elite: Dangerous has been described as going through a rough 2021, mostly with the launch of the disappointing Odyssey DLC. Frontier said it will continue to support the game and its enthusiastic players through development updates, and we’ve also seen an uptick in player sentiment. Its third-party publisher Frontier Foundry will also launch four games in 2022, including Far Far Away: Change Tide and Warhammer 40K: Gates of Chaos – Demon Hunter.
In addition, Frontier plans to enter the F1 field through the year-old F1 management game IP. The company also hopes the release of Jurassic World: Dominion will bring corresponding benefits to Jurassic World: Evolution 2.
Unfortunately, those waiting for the company to launch its real-time strategy game Age of Warhammer Sigmar will have to wait even longer. The work has been delayed to fiscal 2024 (which begins in April 2023). This delay will further improve the quality and longevity of the game and make it more successful.
Jurassic World: Evolution 2 is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
