In the middle of winter, Google deactivated the weather warnings for the in-house home screen widget. Only two weeks later the function made a comeback, which also switches itself on again automatically.
Shortly before Christmas, Google deactivated the weather warnings for the live display on the home screen. This was primarily due to a bug that had sent a local weather warning to users’ devices around the world a few days earlier.
Now the weather warnings are available again – just in time for the new onset of winter in my region. They have now switched on again and will be played out. The cover picture is from January 6th.
Live viewing has replaced At a Glance
The settings for the widget on the home screen look like the screenshot below, which you may also know simply as At a glance. Just put your finger on it. With the introduction of Android 12, Google had renamed the widget to live display.
The way it works is still fundamentally unchanged. The widget provides information about the current weather, weather warnings from the weather service, upcoming appointments, etc.
