Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is definitely one of the company’s phones of 2021 with the best value for money. Lately, however, users have flocked to the official forum of the Samsung Community to report a problem related to the display.
Galaxy A52s would have a bug that makes the display too bright
According to what was reported on the forum, the display is too bright when the charging information is shown with the screen off, creating the impression that there is a backlight. This is technically incorrect though as the Galaxy A 52s is equipped with a Super AMOLED display and the AMOLED panels have no backlight. The pixels light up or dim individually, which is one of the greatest strengths of this type of technology, which makes AOD (Always-On Display) possible.
Community members suggest this is a firmware version and not hardware related issue (which makes sense given how the AMOLED panel works). Unfortunately, there are no images on the network relating to the problem so it is not clear how bright the device is.
Samsung has included A52S among the devices that will receive One UI 4.0 and Android 12, which is expected to be launched in February. If the company were to recognize this problem, it could solve it definitively by including a fix in the next major update or in a subsequent one.
