In addition to various awards such as Game of The Year, it is also important to hear and learn about the favorite games of those in the industry who work there as a developer. And today it is Naughty Dog, that is authors and creators of franchises such as The Last of Us and Uncharted to reveal which were, for them, the best titles and which have inspired part of the development team in 2021.

The revelation took place with a blog post published during the Italian night, where some developers of the PlayStation first-party team unveiled their favorite games published this year. The games featured on the blog are different: Bugsnax, for example, was beloved by Vice President Christian Girling, who played the title with his daughter this year (even if the game is from 2020).

The game director Matthew Gallant, together with Waylon Brinck (Development Director) has instead opted for Deathloop, the exclusive PS5 and PC developed by Arkane Lyon and released in September 2021. Another game director, Anthony Newman has instead opted for Fortnite after the release of the third chapter of Epic Games’ Battle Royale.

Space also for other “minor” games and productions, which may not be able to count on enormous organic like those of Epic Games and Arkane in fact. In the post published on the blog, there are also honorable mentions Inscription, It Takes Two (fresh from Game of the Year award during The Game Awards 2021) and Returnal, developed by the Finns of Housemarque that after the resounding commercial success has become a studio first PlayStation party.

So many different genres, so many different games, so many experiences that it is not excluded that they can leave a mark in the next games of the team, whether they are unreleased or the sequels of the most famous IPs such as Uncharted and The Last of Us. However, it is very nice to see how the developers play and appreciate other productions too, isn’t it?
