According to the latest report, following the release of the official version of iOS 15.2 to all users last week, Apple today stopped supporting iOS 15.1.1 for iPhone 13 series models and iOS 15.1 for older iPhones. This means that users who update their devices to iOS 15.2 can no longer downgrade to iOS 15.1.1 or iOS 15.1.
In mid-December, iOS 15.2 and iPad OS 15.2 added the Apple Music voice control program, which is a new level of subscription service for using Siri to access music. The update also includes the App Privacy Report, the Digital Heritage program, and other features and bug fixes for iPhone and iPad.
As early as November, Apple stopped signing the iOS 15.1 system for iPhone 13 models because these devices received the iOS 15.1.1 update to fix a specific bug that affected this year’s iPhone. Now with the launch of iOS 15.2, iOS 15.1 and iOS 15.1.1 no longer sign and verify any iPhone and iPad models.
IT Home is informed that iOS 15.1 released some new features to all users at the end of October, including the COVID-19 vaccination certificate in the wallet app, SharePlay for FaceTime, and ProRes mode for iPhone 13 Pro users. This update also brings an option to manually disable the macro mode on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Reverting to an earlier iOS version is often used by jailbroken iPhone users. Restoring iPhone or iPad to the previous iOS version is sometimes helpful for users who encounter major bugs after upgrading to the latest version of iOS.
If you encounter any serious issues while using iOS 15.2, unfortunately, you must now wait for a future update instead of downgrading to iOS 15.1.1 or iOS 15.1. Users currently running the iOS 15.3 Beta test version can no longer downgrade to iOS 15.1.1 or iOS 15.1.
