According to Aroged, one of the two key producers of Age of Empires 4, game design director Quinn Duffy, officially resigned from the studio after working for Relic for nearly 24 years. Quinn Duffy’s resume on Linkedin, the world-renowned recruitment platform, shows that December will be his last month in the Relic studio.
His note wrote that he is proud of the work done by the Age of Empires 4 development team, and he is passionate about history and RTS-type games. This is why I am so excited about helping to create a new part of this beloved iconic series.
Quinn Duffy has been working at Relic since 1998. He was initially the process and economic designer of the space real-time strategy game Homeland and was quickly promoted to the chief designer and game leader of Impossible Creatures. In addition, he is the chief designer of Warhammer 40K: Star Warrior.
In 2010, he began to serve as Relic’s RTS project director, and under his leadership, the team launched the controversial Company of Heroes 2. Nevertheless, the game has achieved great success. It was not until 2016 that he turned to the development of Age of Empires 4, initially as the project director, and then as the design director of the project.
At present, neither Quinn Duffy nor Relic Studio has given any official resignation news. But in the community forums of Steam Age of Empires 4, many game fans are discussing this matter.
