When GTA 5 debuted in 2013, it was the first title in the series to have both three main characters and three endings. For years, however, players have wondered what the only canon ending was, but without getting too many answers from Rockstar Games, which has never expressed itself probably because, after all, not even those who worked on the game knew what to say.
The latest update of GTA Online, called The Contract, however, manages to answer this doubt that has emerged from a large group of fans of the game. Warning: from here on, spoilers about GTA 5 and the new DLC begin!
If you remember well, in GTA 5 it was possible to choose three endings to play starring Franklin: an ending where Michael died and one where instead it was Trevor who left the pens. The third ending instead included the happy ending with all three protagonists still alive. Among these endings, many have wondered which was the “official” one and now the answer has arrived. Which we are sure you will really like it very much.
Within the new GTA Online content is Dr. Dre, taking on a prominent role in the story. In The Contracts, in fact, the famous rapper has lost the teelfono with all his new singing material. At one point, Franklin will start a chase with Dr. Dre at the Vinewood film studios and at one point exclaim, Man, I know one of the producers in here. I hope he’s not at work today. This confirms that Michael is still alive in 2021, as he became a film producer by the end of the main game.
Mystery solved, therefore: the only canon ending is that C, or where Michael, Franklin and Trevor are all three alive. But now, dear Rockstar, get ready: we want GTA 6.
