Diablo 2 Resurrected is about to make changes to the professional balance for the first time more than a decade after the original release. Blizzard announced today (December 16) that the upcoming 2.4 patches will adjust each character to expand the diversity of Build and provide more opportunities to explore the unique abilities of each profession.
This change is only for the Remastered Edition and will not update the original work released in 2000. Blizzard said: This (update) is very special because the last professional balance patch for Diablo 2 was 1.13c, which was released on March 23, 2010! Now, 11 years later, we are making new Changes to expand the diversity of character builds and retain professional fantasy and characteristics! These goals are very important. We are reviewing some of the skills that are fully utilized, evaluating delays in casting spells, making changes to the game experience such as tooltips, and more More changes to achieve this goal.
This update will carry out varying degrees of change to all occupations.
- Amazon is now relatively balanced, but there are still some underutilized melee skills that have been strengthened.
- Assassin’s martial arts and trap skills are being re-evaluated, and some of the barbarians’ combat skills and interaction requirements with skills are also being treated the same.
- Druid’s summoning, bear-changing, and elemental skills (mainly fire) have been strengthened.
- Blizzard is satisfied with the overall state of the Necromancer, but some of his specific summonses have also been adjusted.
- Paladin’s skills will be changed to make them more effective; the aura of area damage will also be changed to make them stronger in melee situations.
- Blizzard is very satisfied with the witch career but hopes to adjust some skills to make her different types of Build stronger.
Another major update in the 2.4 patches is the addition of Ranked Ranks, giving players the opportunity to unlock new runes that are only available in Ranked Mode. At the end of each season, players who successfully complete Language of Rune will transfer their characters to the non-ranked version of the game, and the new season will need to recreate the characters to get rewards. The details of the current season’s ladder have not been announced, but Blizzard considers that each season will last four months.
Four different ladder modes will be added to the game:
- Standard Ladder: A casual version of the Ladder game, including the first to fourth scenes of the game.
- Expert Ladder: The expert version of the Ladder game (permanent death), including 1 to 4 acts.
- Standard Expanded Ladder: The casual version of Ladder will include the fifth scene of the game, including the expansion of “King of Destruction”.
- Expert Ladder: Expert Ladder, also includes Act 5 and “Lord of Destruction” expanded content.
In addition to some BUG fixes and adjustments, Blizzard is also studying the improvement of mercenaries (NPC teammates) and will add new Rubik’s Cube formulas and make changes to the set items. Diablo 2 Resurrected version 2.4 patch is expected to be released on the test server PTR in early 2022.
