Earlier this week, robotics student Ken Pillonel shared a video explaining how he modified the iPhone X with a functional USB-C port instead of the usual Lightning connector. This USB-C port can be used to Charge iPhone and transfer data. Pillonel also put the device on eBay for auction, and the bid has been as high as $85,000.
The auction page describes the device as the world’s first USB-C iPhone and a real collectible for any Apple fan. The auction will be accepted before November 11, and delivery is expected in late December. Pillonel said that the modified iPhone X is just a prototype and does not guarantee that it will work abnormally under certain maintenance operations.
Anyone who bids for an iPhone X should be careful not to restore, update the system or erase the device. You should not open the device without authorization, and you should bear the risk of failure of the device if it is used as a daily station.
