Another OnePlus Nord 2 user had a painful experience, but this time it was not the phone that caught fire, but the Warp charger of the smartphone allegedly exploded when plugged into a power outlet. Unfortunately, the company seems to refuse to be responsible for the fact that the charging accessories may be defective, and instead concludes that the explosion was caused by voltage fluctuations.
Twitter user Jimmy Rose posted a picture on the social network proving that the Warp charger exploded when it was plugged into the socket. Fortunately, the owner was unscathed, and only the sockets and part of the walls in the house were burned to black. It should be noted that the weather at the time of the explosion was quite unfavorable. When the charging accessory was inserted, heavy rain occurred in Kerala, so this may be the culprit in this incident.

OnePlus later confirmed the problem and notified the customer to go to the company’s after-sales center. After getting there, after a thorough inspection, the OnePlus’ service technician told the owner of Nord 2 that the Warp charger had exploded due to voltage fluctuations. Although we will not ignore the Nord 2 explosion that occurred in the previous few weeks, the use of electronic products during heavy rain obviously has a higher chance of causing the disaster, because the weather will disrupt the stable power supply.
OnePlus has provided owners with an alternative to the Warp charger, and also told its audience to adhere to the safety instructions and warnings printed in the user manual. To protect electrical appliances, you should avoid plugging electronic products into household outlets during heavy rains or invest in a surge protector and automatic voltage regulator. These two accessories can protect electronic products from the harmful effects of surges and voltage fluctuations.
OnePlus also provided the following statement regarding this incident:
We attach great importance to any claims like this. The user has delivered the damaged OnePlus charger to our service center and obtained a replacement. The OnePlus charger contains a built-in capacitor that can control and store energy. In this case, After thorough analysis, the capacitor remained intact, so it was concluded that the explosion was caused by external factors such as voltage fluctuations.
