Vivo recently announced that it will bring the integration of Extended RAM 2.0 functionality to smartphones in the 2021 line-up starting with the next software update. Thanks to this novelty, users who own Vivo will be able to benefit from additional RAM memory, up to a maximum of 4GB.
Before continuing: have you taken a look at our guide on the best top-of-the-range smartphones? You may find the right answer to your needs to change your smartphone! The Vivo Extended RAM 2.0 allows you to use part of the smartphone’s internal memory as additional RAM; able to activate and deactivate automatically and intelligently.
As a result, this results in a better user experience and smoother, higher performance when using multiple apps at the same time. The smartphones that can already take advantage of Extended RAM 2.0 from this month are the following:
- Vivo X60 Pro
- Vivo V21
- I live Y72
In vivo, we are constantly striving to find solutions that can improve our products and exceed the expectations of our users. This last feature responds in a timely manner to the growing needs of users in terms of performance in situations where, for example, there is the need to use multiple apps at the same time.
We have not limited ourselves to updating only the top of the range, but we have also extended this update to mid-range products, thus allowing a higher number of users to improve their user experience with our smartphones – said Ettore Patriarca, Marketing and Retail Director of Vivo Italia.
The latest smartphone presented, Vivo X60 Pro, already integrated a 12GB RAM and 3GB of Extended RAM at launch and, with the new update, will therefore have 4GB of Extended RAM available; the same procedure applies to the Vivo V21 model, which will go from 3GB to 4GB of temporary memory space while the Y72 will gain an additional 4GB of RAM, a feature previously not supported on this model.
