In addition to the new Xiaomi 11 series smartphones, Xiaomi also launched a new tablet Pad 5 and the NFC version of Xiaomi Mi Band 6 in overseas markets today. Pad 5 is designed with productivity in mind, especially a tool designed for people who work or study at home.
It is equipped with the company’s smartpen, which can be used to take notes or quickly take screenshots with its function keys. This tablet has an 8-megapixel front camera and supports video communications in web meetings and classrooms.
It also has a built-in function for scanning files and uses its 13MP rear camera to share documents and photos. Xiaomi hopes that this tablet can also serve as an entertainment center. The company has equipped the device with an 11-inch WQHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and added support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
The Mi Pad 5 is built-in with the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor announced earlier this year, which can be seen as a revised version of the Snapdragon 855 that will be the core of most flagship phones in 2019.
Pad 5 will be available in gray and pearl white colors, and there will be two combinations of storage capacity. One is 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the other is 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, priced at 349 Euros ($412) and 399 Euros ($472), respectively.
Xiaomi also launched a new version of the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 6, which was originally released in March 2020. The new bracelet still has the health features of the old bracelet, including SpO2, but it now also has the ability to make contactless payments via NFC. Xiaomi said it has cooperated with MasterCard in overseas markets to add this feature to wearable devices and now has built-in access to Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant. The price of this smart bracelet is 55 Euros ($65).
