Mozilla Firefox 93.0 Beta 1 was released today, and the update list on the official website is currently being updated. The only improvements on the line are these two:
-
Firefox now supports the new AVIF image format, which is based on the modern, royalty-free AV1 video codec. Compared with existing image formats, it provides significant bandwidth-saving capabilities for websites and also supports transparency and other advanced features.
-
When the available system memory is insufficient, the Firefox browser on Windows will automatically uninstall some tags based on the last access time, memory usage and other attributes.
This should help reduce Firefox crashes due to insufficient memory. Switching to an unloaded tab will reload it.
