The routine of Google Assistant undoubtedly represents a very interesting solution to try to automate their device’s smart home through voice commands and the developers of the Mountain View giant team long ago decided to devote themselves to it to increase the possibilities for customization offers to users.
And so, a few days after the arrival of the Daylong Routines, the Google Assistant team has launched the release of another novelty: we are talking about a trigger that allows you to start the routines when you delete an alarm.
As we learn from 9to5Google, this new feature should be pretty popular and users should have the ability to set that option for any Google Assistant routines they’ve created (an Ignore alarm On existing and new routines).
This new feature has some controls to reduce accidental triggers, such as the ability to specify which device is used to trigger the alarm (the user will choose any smart speaker or smart display as a trigger and the routine will trigger each time any alarm is deactivated on the selected device), with the possibility of assigning this action to more than one device.
In addition to specifying the device, Google will also allow users to limit the amount of time the Google Assistant routine can be triggered by an alarm (it will be possible to have the routine only occur between a start time and a specified end time) and this could be useful to set up, for example, a Good morning routine that you do not want to activate during other parts of the day.
This new feature should already be available to a large number of users and will probably be available to everyone soon.
