In a patent application filed on January 17, 2020, Microsoft revealed the non-detachable screen design that the next-generation Surface Book is expected to be equipped with. Through a set of very special hinges, users can adjust the screen of the Surface Book 4 to a floating posture. After Windows United discovered this patent, Windows Central learned from sources that Microsoft is developing a new Surface Book with a size of about 14 inches.
As this design patent was officially announced to the outside world on July 22, 2021, graphic designer David Breyers also created a series of renders for it to depict the real model of the legendary Surface Book Studio. The patented illustration shows a laptop that can transform from a common flip state into a floating screen posture similar to the Apple Magic Keyboard Case. In addition, David Breyers also envisioned a model similar to an easel.
The legendary Surface Book Studio (or Surface book Pro) laptop may arrive sometime this fall. In terms of software, it is said that the opportunity is pre-installed with the out-of-the-box Windows 11. In terms of hardware, it is expected to usher in more powerful processors, graphics cards, high-quality screens, large touchpads, Surface Pen stylus, and tactile feedback improvements.
