OnePlus launched two OnePlus Buds series true wireless headsets last year. Thanks to the addition of the Google-led Fast Pair fast pairing function, this is a good choice for all Android users. However, according to 9to5Google, the upcoming OnePlus Buds Pro model seems to have completely abandoned support for Google Fast Pair.
9to5Google pointed out that both OnePlus Buds and OnePlus Buds Z support Google Fast Pair. As a standard supported by many accessories such as earphones and smartwatches, it aims to achieve quick pairing with Android devices. Even better, Google Fast Pair also means that users can share the accessory between other Android devices that have logged in to the same Google account.
Unfortunately, as a practical feature, many accessory manufacturers have not made full use of this Fast Pair feature. On the other hand, OnePlus quickly pointed out that the brand’s smartphone provides its own quick pairing solution as shown in the figure.
Finally, the HeyMelody application on other Android smartphones also provides a quick pairing scheme. When the app is opened for the first time, it will immediately find the OnePlus Buds Pro true wireless headset that needs to be paired with it, but the experience is not as seamless as Google Fast Pair. If you really need to check the battery information of the charging storage box, downloading and installing the HeyMelody application from the Google Play Store will also be an indispensable thing.
