A few weeks ago, Apple launched the official version of iOS 14.7.1, which fixes the unlocking vulnerability of the Apple Watch and solves a security vulnerability that may be actively exploited. Now, some iPhone users who upgraded to iOS 14.7.1 have encountered a no service coverage signal error from the operator.
These iPhone users said that restarting the phone, removing the SIM card, or even resetting the network settings did not help. Posts in Apple’s developer forums and discussion boards show that this problem has occurred for at least a few weeks.
One of the iPhone users using iOS 14.7.1 wrote:
After I updated my iPhone 11 to iOS 14.7.1, I lost the signal. No carrier was found. There is no service flashing on the upper screen.
Users of iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 8 and iPhone 11 have reported similar complaints. One of the users wrote:
Same problem. iPhone 6S, even though I did all the on and off and reset the network settings, my phone is no longer a phone. This is really great.
On Twitter, the developer Hugo Maestá stated that his iPhone 8 could not find the service and the cellular network page was completely blank.
Apple has a support page specifically for users who see no service or search on iPhone and iPad. Some of these tips include:
- To turn cell phone data on or off
- Restart your device
- Check if the operator settings are updated
- Remove the SIM card
- Reset your network settings
- Update iPhone or iPad
- Contact the operator
However, users who upgraded iOS 14.7.1 said that they tried all the above methods and failed to find the coverage signal of the operator. The report said that Apple is developing the iOS 14.8 system, but the company has not released a beta version so far, and it is not clear whether Apple will launch a repaired version of iOS 14.7.2.
